AYKUT KARAMAN, Teacher
Graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts
University (MSGSÜ) , Department of Architecturein 1973. He received Ph.D. degree from University of Pennsylvania in 1983. He is a
full time professor of Urbanizm at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University His
publications and researches are focused on Urban Design, Urban Regeneration,
Sustainable Urban Development ,
Urban Morphology and Heritages. He has been teaching
theories and studios of Urban and Architectural Design and Planning at MSGSU ,Faculty of Architecure
since 1984.He established academic cooperations with many universities in
Europe and USA. He has been a visiting professor at LSEs Cities programme .He has some
Urban Design competition awards and is the designer of several Suburban Neighborhood Development projects in İstanbul.He prepared İstanbul Zeyrek District
Conservation Plan and Design Guideline. He was the co-director of the Site
Management Plan of the Historical Peninsula of İstanbul .He was the director of
the Site Management Plan of Aphrodisias Antic City . He is the member of
tangible heritage committe of Turkeys national comission of UNESCO.His writings were published on the planning and
designing problematics of Istanbul in various international meetings. He has been
head of Department of City and Regional Planning of the Faculty of
Architecture of MSGSU for several years.He is currently the director of
Research and Implementation Center of Urbanizm of MSGSU.
ÖZGE GÜNDEM, Assistant Professor
Ozge Gundem is a Research Assistant
at Department of History of Architecture
in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, İstanbul, Turkey since 2007. She is
graduated from Beykent University Faculty of Architecture. She is a Phd student
at Department of History of Architecture
in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University since 2010. As an architect, she is also interested in
opera. She has been singing at Istanbul Government Symphony Orchestra Chorus
since 1992 and went to Istanbul University Conservatory, Department of Opera
for 2 years. Her specialized knowledge
is about the relation of music and architecture. She is teaching a course
called 'Music & Space' in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University since 2007. She
worked as a coordinator and tutor at the workshop Istanbul Drapery Market
which was held between Mimar Sinan Fne Arts University and Universidad Central
de Venezuela- Caracas in Istanbul at 2010.She has been tutoring at Architecture Design Studio which is a required course at the university
since February 2013. She lived in Japan for 8 months as an exchange student at
Geidai; Tokyo University of the Fine Arts, Department of Architecture and studied
with Prof. Atsushi Kitagawara whom is a famous architect in Japan. She had a
research project about the concert halls and opera houses in Tokyo for her Phd .
She is now studying on the subject of
performing arts buildings architecture.
